Jesus chooses twelve disciples
An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from Luke's Good News
Joyce Ferrie
Jesus went up onto the hillside.
He found a quiet place there.
He prayed all night.
When it was day he called his friends to come to him.
Jesus chose twelve of them to be special friends.
They were called Jesus' disciples.
Their names were: Peter, Andrew, James, John,
Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas,
James [the son of Alphaeus],
Simon, Thaddaeus and
Judas Iscariot who became a traitor.
They all came back down the hillside.
A large crowd of people were waiting.
They had come to hear Jesus teach.
The sick people wanted Jesus to make them well.
They just wanted to touch Jesus.
