The man who was attacked

Jesus told this story:

A man was travelling along the road.

Robbers attacked him and beat him up.

They took everything he had and left him half dead.

Later an important man from the church passed by.

He crossed the road and walked on.

Another important man passed by also.

He looked at the man, crossed the road and went away.

Another man from another part of the country came along.

His people were enemies of the injured man.

He felt very sorry for the poor man lying on the roadside.

He bandaged his wounds.

He put him on his own donkey and took him to a hotel.

He paid the manager to look after the man until he was well again.

"Who do you think was a friend to the man who was attacked?" asked Jesus.

"The one who was kind to him", was the reply.

"You go and be kind to everyone too", said Jesus.
