Jesus feeds a lot of people

An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from Matthew’s Good News

Joyce Ferrie

Jesus went to a quiet place.

It was at the side of the lake.

Jesus wanted to be by himself.

Crowds of people found him.

They had followed him.

Jesus was sorry for them.

Some people were sick.

He made them well again.

It was getting late.

Jesus’ friends said to him, “Send the people away.

This is a lonely place. They need to go and buy food.”

“They do not need to go away”, said Jesus.

“You give them some food.”

His friends said, “We only have 5 loaves and 2 fish.”

Jesus said, “Bring them to me.”

He told the people to sit down on the grass.

Jesus took the bread and the fish.

He said “Thank you” to God.

He broke the food into pieces.

Jesus’ friends shared the food out to all the people.

All the people had enough to eat.

They picked up all the bits that were left.

There were twelve baskets full.

Jesus had given food to 5000 men.

He gave food to lots of women and children too.

Matthew 14:13-21.
