The sheep and the goats
An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from Matthew’s Good News
Joyce Ferrie
When Jesus comes back with his angels,
he will sit on his throne in Glory.
Everyone will stand in front of Jesus.
He will divide the people into two lots.
He will do it in the same way that a shepherd divides
his sheep from his goats.
He will put the sheep on the right.
He will put the goats on the left.
Then Jesus will say to the people on the right,
“Come into my Kingdom.
When I was hungry, you fed me.
When I was thirsty, you gave me a drink.
You invited me to your house.
You cared for me when I was sick.
You even came to visit me when I was in prison.”
The people will ask, “When did we do that?”
Jesus will say, “When you did these things for anyone,
that was the same as doing it for me.”
Jesus will send these people into eternal life.
The people on the left who did not do these things will be punished.
Matthew 25:31-46.
