shepherd ~ (A) ~ a sheep farmer.
shepherd ~ (B) ~ a person who looks after sheep.
shepherd ~ (B) ~ one who takes care of sheep (sheep are a kind of animal).
shepherd ~ (B) ~ The Bible also uses the word shepherd to describe someone who looks after people. See Psalm 23:1 and Zechariah 11:15-16. A church leader is often called a 'pastor'. The word 'pastor' means shepherd.
