soil ~ (A) ~ the ground that people put seeds into.
soil ~ (B) ~ The quality of the soil in Israel varies in different areas. In many valleys, the soil is very good. People grow grain and fruit there. Fruit trees grown on the hill slopes. Other areas are deserts, where few plants can grow. And there are many mountains where the soil may be too thin for agriculture.
