EasyEnglish Bible Translation

This series is a very simple translation of the Bible (not word for word) for people who are starting to learn English. It can also help mother-tongue Bible translators who are translating the Bible into their own language. It is written in Level A EasyEnglish (1200 words).

The idea of these materials is to help Second Language English speakers. We want them to help people who speak less English. You should use them together with any other standard English translations or commentaries that you have available. We do not intend that you should use our version alone. You should not use it as your only start for a new translation into another language.

The Bible books in this list were translated by the EasyEnglish Level A Translation Team

This mark means that the translated Bible text has been through our Advanced Checking process. We have found it to be the consistent view of experienced translators that the logical connection of thoughts is very important in bible translation. For this reason, these documents contain, in places, sentences that are slightly more complex than a strict interpretation of EasyEnglish grammar rules would allow.

We invite you to download, print, and use any of these documents free of charge, but you must include the Copyright Statement included in each document.

Note: We have a more advanced translation of the Bible with a 2800 word vocabulary. The Bible translation is included with our Bible Commentaries. We also have a few Bible translations in our SAT Series (Semantically Analyzed Texts). These are designed for mother-tongue Bible translators who speak English as a foreign language.
